The NPS/SARACEN HORSE FEEDS M&M Home Produced In Hand National Championship

You do not need to be a member of NPS to compete in this class.

  • These classes are open to pure bred registered M&M ponies which are either stabled at home or in a DIY yard and which since 1st January in the current year have not been shown by a producer or stabled in a producer’s yard other than on a DIY basis or at stud. To be owned/kept, produced, ridden/handled by a person who does not derive their main income from working with horses/ponies. No professional producers are allowed into the ring to groom/strip the horse/pony. Please see NPS 2018 Rule Book, Sec A, 3.6. Please enter this class in the spirit it is intended. Competitors who contravene the above will be disqualified.

NPS/KILMANNAN STUD M&M In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship
  • NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships Judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider’s/handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette, but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 6th – 8th August 2019.

NPS/STANDINGHAT STUD & SHOW TEAM M&M Ridden Silver Medal Rosette Championship

  • NPS Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible for Mountain & Moorland Classes. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 6th – 8th August 2019 The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified. NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. The Owner’s Membership cards MUST be produced in the ring when requested or the qualification will be forfeit.

  • This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse and Pony Society (UK) Affiliation Number . Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However in order to qualify both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card. The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on 28th-31st August 2019. Shows held on or after the closing date of Championship Show will count as a 2020 qualifiers. The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers - classes 21, 22 and 24.   • Qualifier for the Trailblazers Showing and Working Hunter Championships 27th - 28th July 2019 at Stoneleigh. The first four highest placed combinations will qualify regardless of the number of competitors. Only qualified partnerships (horse/pony and rider) from a Trailblazers Qualifier are eligible to compete at the Trailblazer Championship Finals. Once qualifying partnerships have purchased their qualification card and sent it to the Trailblazers show secretary, they are permitted to enter any showing or working hunter class in which they are eligible to compete. Upon qualification, Allens Hill will issue a congratulatory letter telling them they have qualified. The competitor will then have the choice to either take up the qualification or not. Should the competitor decide to accept the qualification for the Championship Finals, they will return the congratulatory letter (within 14 days) together with the appropriate fee and a SAE, to Allens Hill. The SAE will be used to return a qualification card.

A rosette in memory of The Late Mr R Philpot is offered to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior Member, judged to be the best turned out.

SSA Classical Ladies Side Saddle Qualifier

You do not need to be a member of SSA to compete in this class.

  • Open to SSA Adult Members and Non-members, aged 18 and over on January 1st of the current year, riding side saddle, on horses exceeding 148cm (14.2hh). To be judged 25% conformation and action, 25% manners & way of going, 25% rider, and 25% turnout of horse & rider, by a SHBGB, BSHA, BSPS, P(UK) or SSA Panel Judge. Judges may request a short show, but will not ride exhibits; horses will not be stripped. Traditional habits must be worn. Fancy Dress and Period Costumes NOT permitted. Judges are requested to use the mark sheet provided. The highest placed horse/rider combination qualifies for the Final to be held at the National Side Saddle Show. In the event of previous qualification, this may be passed down to fourth place. Special rosettes are offered by Mrs T Mitchell & Mr L Mitchell to the winner and if the winner has already qualified, a second rosette is awarded with the Qualification Card. Qualifying combinations are required to become Full Members of the SSA 21 days prior to the National Side Saddle Show or as soon as possible if qualified after that date to be eligible to be eligible to compete at the Final. Combinations qualifying between one National Side Saddle Show and the next may carry forward the qualification, for that year only. The highest placed Riding Horse, Hack (not exceeding 160cm), Cob or Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 years and over, ridden by a SSA Adult Member qualifies for the current year’s BSHA Championship Show “The Broadband & Phones” Ladies Show Horse Championship and if already qualified the ticket will go to the next highest placed horse down to 5th place. Combinations qualifying after the current year’s BSHA Championship Show may carry forward the qualification, to the following year. SSA Members who qualify for The Ladies Show Horse Championship, will not be required to join the BSHA in order to compete in any Side Saddle class at the BSHA National Championship Show. If the BSHA Championship Show entries have closed at the time of qualification, competitors will not be charged a late entry fee for the Championship.

  • Open to horses or ponies 4 years old and over. Conformation and manners will be taken into consideration. Horses / ponies will not be stripped. Special rosette to the highest placed Adult and Junior members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. The highest placed coloured exhibit (who has not already qualified) receives a special rosette, qualifies for the Side Saddle Final at CHAPS Championship Show. Riders 16 or over. Riders/owners need not be a member or their exhibit registered with CHAPS at time of qualification. To compete at the CHAPS Championship the rider/owner and horse/pony must register with CHAPS before the final.

  • Open to all RoR and NR competition registered horses, 3 yrs and over, fillies, mares and geldings. Blemishes caused through racing will be ignored. This class is a qualifier for the RoR OPEN In Hand Showing Series Final. The first three go forward to the final at the RoR Goffs UK National Championships at Aintree in August 2019.

RoR AMATEUR Ridden Show Series Qualifier 2019
  • Open to all RoR and NR competition registered horses, 4yrs and over, mares and geldings, owned, produced and ridden by an Amateur. Riders must be 15 years or over on the 1st January 2019. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridel with a plain cavasson noseband. Horses should be plaited. The Series is open to AMATEURS only - those employed in racing will be allowed to compete. Class will be judged under’riding horse’ format without ‘type’ being taken into consideration. Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series. This class is a qualifier for the RoR Amateur Ridden Show Series FINAL. The judge will not ride at the qualifier but will ride in the final. The first three go forward to the final at the RoR National Championships at Aintree in August 2019
  • AMATEUR DEFINITION: An amateur is a person who for the purpose of RoR classes does not/has not during the current season or previous season: Engage(d) in breeding, livery, buying or selling, dealing or hiring horses (for the show ring) in a commercial capacity. Horses must not have been stabled at or reside in a Professional Producer’s/Trainer’s yard (in the current season or previous season). Riders must not have ridden any animals produced by a Professional/Trainer in the current or previous season. Horses and roders must not have received any help form a Professional Producer/trainer at a SHOW in the current or previous season. Horses must not have been ridden at a show by a rider who has ridden for a Professional/Producer Trainer in the current or previous season. Any breaches of this ruling will be taken seriously and will result in disqualification from future classes.

You do not need to be a member of Trailblazers to compete in this class.

  • Mare or Gelding registered in Weatherby's General Stud Book and have written proof that they have raced either Point to Point, National Hunt or on the flat exceeding 15.00hh at maturity.
  • Small Breeds: Exmoors, Shetlands, Dartmoors, Welsh Section A & B. Part breeds not permitted Open to any rider. Maximum height of fences 60cm
  • Large Breeds: Connemara, Dales, Highland, Fells, New Forest, Welsh Section C & D. Part breeds not permitted Open to any rider. Maximum height of fences 75cm

Car and lorry parking

Lorry parking is on hard standing at the entrance to the show ground. Car and trailer parking is on the grass as indicated on the map. Our car parking attendant will guide you as necessary.
