Coloured Horse and Ponies

  • This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse and Pony Society (UK) Affiliation Number 17068. Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However in order to qualify both Owner and Rider/Exhibitor need to be a current showing member and present their valid Qualifier card IN THE RING for signing by the judge. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card. The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on 30th August - 1st September 2018. Shows held on or after the closing date of Championship Show will count as a 2019 qualifiers. The following classes are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers. Classes 21, 22 and 23. For full rulings and information on competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) Members' Handbook, or visit www.chapsuk.com for rulings. Only Skewbalds/ Piebalds may compete in these classes. All stallions, 4 years old or over entering these classes must be GRADED with CHAPS (UK). All stallions must wear Stallions ID discs in the ring without exception. All Affiliated Shows will offer qualification under the following rulings only:- Championship Show Qualifiers (see CHAPS Handbook) CHAPS (UK) Qualifying classes enable eligible exhibits to enter the relevant classes at the CHAPS (UK) Championship Show in the year relevant to the qualification. The first four highest placed combinations will qualify regardless of the number of competitors. Only qualified partnerships (horse/pony and rider) from a Trailblazers Qualifier are eligible to compete at the Trailblazer Championship Finals. Once qualifying partnerships have purchased their qualification card and sent it to Trailblazers show secretary, they are permitted to enter any showing or working hunter class in which they are eligible to compete. Upon qualification, Allens Hill will issue a congratulatory letter telling them they have qualified. The competitor will then have the choice to either take up the qualification or not. Should the competitor decide to accept the qualification for the Championship Finals, they will return the congratulatory letter (within 14 days) together with the appropriate fee and a SAE's, to the show centre of qualification, i.e., Allens Hill). The SAE will be used to return a qualification card.

Traditional Gypsy Cob

  • Affiliation number TGCA/05/17/028 These classes are qualifiers for the Best of Breed Finals at the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show (TOYS). Classes are open to all Traditional Gypsy Cobs. Top three in each class qualify. In open height classes, top three in small and large sections qualify. Stallions - All stallions (four years and over). In order to enter any TGCA affiliated class, MUST have their TGCA stallion disc displayed on their bridle. Existing TGCA members must present their qualification card to the Judge in the ring for signature. Non members will receive a qualification card from the judge and will have 21 days to join the TGCA and register their horse to validate their qualification. Please refer to www.tgca.co.uk for further details including membership, horse registration and showing rules (contained within members handbook). Quest Championship Shows 1st, 2nd and 3rd from the TGCA classes may go forward to the Quest for a Start Championship provided they are current TGCA members and the horse is TGCA registered. Membership cards and qualification cards (specific to that exhibit) must be presented upon entry into the ring. The Champion and Reserve qualify for the Ultimate Start Championship at TOYS. All classes are open to all traditional gypsy cobs, which are of any colour and which meet the TGCA breed standard.

VHS Regional Final Qualification All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each Area Qualifier will qualify for corresponding class at the VHS Regional Finals. Members must have their showing card signed by the judge as proof of qualification. Non-members will receive a red qualification card which can be exchanged for signed showing card when applying for VHS membership. Regional Finals are open to members only. Young Rider Championship Qualification. A young rider and rosette qualification will be awarded to the young rider of the judge’s choice, entitling them to enter the Young Rider Championship at the National Veteran Open Championship. This award is given at the judge’s discretion. All competitors are eligible to enter open classes at the National Veteran Open Championship, 29th - 30th September 2018 TBC. Day membership must be purchased from VHS head office in advance of the show, at a cost of £15.00. A Day Membership card and age badge will be provided. Competitors placed 1st or 2nd in this open class will qualify for the VHS Open Class Final at the National Veteran Open Championships, Arena UK, Lincolnshire 29th September - 30th September 2018 TBC. If the competitor has already qualified or does not wish to attend, they must refuse the qualification card and pass it down the line on the day. Day members must become full VHS members in order to enter the Open Class Final. All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification.

  • Open to horses or ponies 4 years old and over. Conformation and manners will be taken into consideration. Horses / ponies will not be stripped. Special rosette to the highest placed Adult and Junior members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. The highest placed coloured exhibit (who has not already qualified) receives a special rosette, qualifies for the Side Saddle Final at CHAPS Championship Show. Riders 16 or over. Riders/owners need not be a member or their exhibit registered with CHAPS at time of qualification. To compete at the CHAPS Championship the rider/owner and horse/pony must register with CHAPS before the final.

Classical Ladies Side Saddle Qualifier
  • Open to S.S.A. Adult Members and Non-members, aged 18 and over on January 1st of current year, riding side saddle, on horses exceeding 148cms. To be judged 25% conformation & action, 25% manners & way of going, 25% rider, 25% turnout of horse & rider, by a SHBGB, BSHA, BSPS, P(UK) or S.S.A. Panel Judge. Judges may request a short show, but will not ride exhibits; horses will not be stripped. Traditional habits must be worn. Fancy Dress & Period Costumes NOT permitted. Judges are requested to use the mark sheet provided. Highest placed horse/rider combination qualifies for the Final to be held at the National Side Saddle Show. In the event of previous qualification, this may be passed down to fourth place. Special rosettes are offered by Mrs. T Mitchell to the winner & if the winner has already qualified, a second rosette is awarded with the Qualification Card. Qualifying combinations are required to become Full Members of the S.S.A. 21 days prior to the National Side Saddle Show or A.S.A.P if qualified after that date to be eligible to compete at the Final. Combinations qualifying between one National Side Saddle Show and the next may carry forward the qualification, for that year only. The highest placed Riding Horse, Hack (not exceeding 160cm), Cob or Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 years & over, ridden by a S.S.A. Adult Member qualifies for the 2018 BSHA Championship Show “TheBroadband and Phones” Ladies Show Horse Championship, if already qualified the ticket will go to the next highest placed horse down to 5th place. Combinations qualifying after the current year's BSHA Championship Show may carry forward the qualification, to the following year. S.S.A Members who qualify for The Ladies Show Horse Championship, will not be required to join the BSHA in order to compete in any Side Saddle class at the BSHA National Championship Show. If the BSHA Championship Show entries have closed at the time of qualification, competitors will not be charged a late entry fee for Championship.

RoR AMATEUR Ridden Show Series Qualifier ( Formally TARRA)
  • Open to all RoR and NR registered horses, 4yrs and over, mares and geldings, owned, produced and ridden by an Amateur. The Series is open to AMATEURS only – those employed in racing will be allowed to compete. Class will be judged under ‘riding horse’ format without ‘type’ being taken into consideration. Blemishes caused through racing will be ignored. This class is a qualifier for the RoR AMATEUR Ridden Show Series FINAL. The Judge will not ride at the qualifier but will ride in the final. The first three go forwards to the final at the RoR National Championship Show at Aintree, August 2018.
  • AMATEUR DEFINITION : An amateur is a person who for the purpose of RoR classes does not/has not during the current season or previous season: Engage(d) in breeding, livery, buying or selling, dealing or hiring horses (for the show ring) in a commercial capacity. Horses must not have been stabled at or reside in a Professional Producer’s/Trainer’s yard (in the current or previous season). Riders must not have ridden any animals produced by a Professional/Trainer in the current or previous season. Horses and riders must not have received any help from a Professional Producer/Trainer at a SHOW in the current or previous season. Horses must not have been ridden at a show by a rider who has ridden for a Professional/Producer Trainer in the current or previous season. Any breaches of this ruling will be taken seriously and will result in disqualification from future classes.
